I conduct vendor scouting based on what's regionally appropriate for each new store location, selecting vendors that align with local demographics and social media trends to enhance customer experience and maximize brand impression.

Maintaining an open line of communication is crucial to the success of each and every Grand Opening party. I serve as liaison between third-party vendors, store management, and the corporate marketing team to foster seamless execution for the benefit of customers and employees alike.

Operational Planning

Behind every successful Grand Opening lies meticulous operational planning. As the orchestrator of logistics, I oversee the acquisition, transport, and timely delivery of crucial elements like gift cards, raffle prizes, and essential store materials.

Community Event Highlights

Exposure Skate
Oct./Nov. 2022, 2023 & 2024

Exposure is the world’s largest and longest-running women’s two-day skateboarding competition, benefiting survivors of domestic violence and drawing thousands of spectators annually.

 

I locked in a premium sponsorship for Tillys, working closely with the Exposure team and our legal counsel to draft and finalize the vendor contract. I also collaborated with our hardgoods buyers to curate an on-brand gift basket and supply prizes from top skate brands for our booth.

 

Additionally, I managed the ordering and transportation of event materials—including a branded venue banner, Tillys canopy, swag, and gift cards—coordinating with our Distribution Center, Store Operations, Merchandising, and store management to ensure flawless execution.

Santa Monica PRIDE
June 2023 & 2024

Part of Santa Monica’s month-long celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, PRIDE on the Promenade draws over 20,000 attendees to 3rd Street Promenade, passing directly in front of Tillys’ Santa Monica location.

 

I secured a vendor spot for our retail team just feet from the store entrance to maximize foot traffic, coordinating with Downtown Santa Monica’s Director of Marketing to finalize event details, booth logistics, and a special Pride-themed Tillys giveaway featuring product from The Phluid Project, a Pride-forward apparel collection we had been actively promoting. 

 

Alongside swag and gift cards, we designed limited-edition rainbow Tillys tees in Pride Flag colors for the first 100 eventgoers.

Tustin Dino Dash
Nov. 2023 & 2024

Dino Dash is an annual fundraiser benefiting public schools in Tustin, CA, drawing over 10,000 attendees to a community run event at the Tustin Market Place, just a two-minute walk from the local Tillys.

In 2023 and 2024, I managed sponsorship purchasing, operational planning, and materials transport for Tillys' vendor booth. I facilitated cross-functional communication between Marketing, Store Operations, and store management, and coordinated the delivery of key booth elements including a branded canopy, sandbags, promotional banners, swag, and gift cards.

Our booth drew the longest lines of any vendor both years, and the Tustin store exceeded the company’s event-day sales goal by 12.5% in 2024.

Store Event Highlights

TLC Let Go & Grow
May 18, 2024

For Mental Health Awareness Month 2024, Tillys teamed up with Tilly’s Life Center (TLC)—a nonprofit supporting underprivileged youth—to host a multi-store activation focused on mental wellness and positive thinking. Held on May 18, the event spanned 156 Tillys locations across 33 states.

To bring the theme of releasing negativity and making space for personal growth to life, each store featured a succulent station where customers could write down a fear or worry, bury it in soil, and decorate their own potted plant.

I played a key role in ensuring smooth event execution by tracking and managing store materials, documenting missing or damaged succulents, assembling packages for all 156 stores, and coordinating local and national deliveries. I also created the landing page featured in our email, social, and paid media campaigns.

The succulent activation, paired with a T-shirt GWP, colorful TLC bracelets, and affirmation cards, helped drive increased foot traffic chainwide. It also sparked enthusiasm among customers and retail employees alike, while strengthening Tillys’ presence within the community.

RSQ Skate x Ryan Townley Art Show
December 12, 2024

I supported the planning and execution of Porcelain Memories, a live art show and in-store event hosted by RSQ Skate, a skate concept store under the Tillys umbrella. The event showcased for-sale pieces by Ryan Townley, an LA-based professional skateboarder, Tillys-sponsored athlete, and freelance artist.

 

Held at RSQ Skate in the Irvine Spectrum, the show featured a live DJ, art auction, free T-shirts, hourly Converse shoe raffles, and complimentary permanent tattoos.

 

Along with coordinating vendor payments, ordering catering, and transporting event materials, I attended the show in person. There, I helped run the raffle ticket station, supported the retail team, tracked T-shirt quantities, and engaged with in-store customers.

Roxy x Kate Bosworth
March 9-11, 2023

​​To celebrate the launch of the Roxy x Kate Bosworth Spring 2023 collection, Tillys hosted in-store parties at three locations across Orange County from March 9–11.

 

Each event featured a permanent jewelry pop-up, branded giveaways, and free prizes, all designed to spotlight the collection while driving in-store traffic.

As my first major project since joining Tillys in October 2022, I coordinated directly with our permanent jewelry vendor, securing dates, finalizing event details, and managing payment logistics. I also worked with our legal team to navigate contract terms.

 

I attended all three events, transporting materials, tending each store’s prize wheel, capturing content for social media, interacting with eventgoers, and ensuring a smooth experience for customers, store teams, and corporate staff alike.
